Basehor-Linwood senior Jamie Johnson hit four three-pointers to lead the Bobcats to a 43-29 victory against Ottawa in the first round of the BLHS Invitational on Tuesday.
The Bobcats (5-3, 3-3 in the KVL) overcame an 8-1 deficit with an 11-0 run to take a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.
Johnson scored a game-high 14 points to lead BLHS and was one of three Bobcats to hit shots from behind the arc — the Bobcats hit seven three-pointers on the night.
Junior Amber Garver added eight points and Alex Gorman scored six.
The Bobcats went into the fourth quarter with a 14-point lead before Ottawa went on an 8-0 lead. But Johnson and Garver helped bring BLHS out of its slump and outscore the Cyclones, 8-2 to close out the game.
The Bobcats move on to play No. 1 seed Holton at 6 p.m. on Thursday. The BLHS boys basketball team will play Hayden at 7:30 p.m. Stay tuned to basehorinfo.com for more.
